This enchanting Summer palace was built by Sultan "Tipu" in the year 1784 AD on the island. The palace is built in the Indo-Sarcenic style. Tipu Sultan laid out a garden here as a welcome break from the mundane world. It is set amidst beautiful gardens called "Daria Daulat Bagh" .

This formidable is the second most impregnable forts in India, because it is guarded by the torrential river Kaveri offering the natural defense to the fortification. Tippu Sultan built , rather rebuilt, the fort with many ingenuous military architectural techniques of those days. There are also scary Dungeons where the captured prisoners were kept. Also visit the beautiful Ranganathswamy temple inside the fort.
