Stop 1

Fort Aguada is easily one of the most popular destinations of Goa. It is the perfect testimony for the glory of Portuguese legacy. It was constructed by Portuguese in the 1612. The magnificent fort has been standing high with all its elegance for over four hundred years. Aguada Light house is also another feature that makes this spot popular among the tourists. Catching the sunset and sunrise view from here is a beautiful rewarding experience.

Stop 2

Reis Magos– The fort was constructed as an outpost for Adil Shah of Bijapur in 1493. When the Portuguese conquered Bardez, they renovated the fort and built along with the church. It was also used as a jail later by them. By 1993, it was abandoned and was it started deteriorating drastically and finally the restoration process started in 2008. This Portuguese styled fort facing the capital city of Panjim is surrounded by sturdy laterite walls studded with typically Portuguese turrets and formally accommodated viceroys and other dignitaries.

Stop 3

Se Cathedral, Old Goa– The architecture style of the Se Cathedral is Portuguese – Manueline. The exterior is Tuscan, whereas the interior is Corinthian. The church is 250 feet (76 m) in length and 181 feet (55 m) in breadth. The frontispiece stands 115 feet (35 m) high. The Se Cathedral’s tower houses a large bell known as the “Golden Bell” on account of its rich tone. It is said to be the largest in Goa, and one of the best in the world.

Ruins of the Church of St.Augustine, Old Goa – The church was constructed in 1602 by Augustinian friars who had arrived in Old Goa in 1587 and was abandoned in 1835 due to expulsion of religious orders from Goa and the Portuguese government ordered its demolition. All that’s left today of the Church of St Augustine is the 46m-high tower, which served as a belfry and formed part of the church’s facade.
