Detailed itinerary

1

Loulé is a traditional market town located approximately 18km north of Faro. It’s a small town that even in the summer manages to avoid much of the hustle and bustle of the Algarve. Well, except for one day of the week. Each Saturday morning its traditional fish market merges with a local farmers market. Fresh fruit and veg vendors line the streets outside of the market while the inside is equally busy. It creates a hectic working atmosphere that can be a tourist activity in itself. The rest of the town is small, historical and makes a wonderful day trip. Especially if you’re looking for a trip and some culture

2

Faro might be the administrative centre of the Algarve but for don’t for one second presume that means its all office blocks and paperwork. History goes back a long way here, but it is the reminders of the region’s Moorish heritage that excites the most, with one of the most quaint Old Towns in the country. The capital of the Algarve is full of bars, restaurants, cafes and more, not to mention some of the best museums in the region. Faro is probably the most underrated town in the south of Portugal.
