About this experience

Known as the “Venice of the East,” Suzhou has over 35km of navigable canals and 60 of China’s most well-preserved gardens. On this walking tour, you’ll walk back in time while exploring Suzhou’s residential old-town, explore its lush gardens and monasteries, and discover what locals eat in the city that’s been the center of wealth and culture for 1,000s of years.

Meeting point

This tour starts at Beisita Subway Station, located outside of the 800-year-old pagoda that stands taller than any other building in Suzhou’s old-town. Please refer to your voucher ticket for meeting location details.

Important notes

Meeting Location: Beisita Subway Station, Exit 5, Street Level

If traveling from Shanghai, trains leave regularly from both Shanghai Railway Station and Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station and arrive at Suzhou Railway Station (苏州火车站). The journey takes approx. 30 minutes, but you'll need to allow plenty of extra time to get your tickets. Purchasing tickets online is possible at: https://www.trip.com/?locale=en_xx

Subway Directions(strongly recommended): Beisita Subway Station service line 4 in Suzhou. This is one stop away from the Suzhou Railway Station. When you arrive at Beisita station, follow signs to Exit 5. Your guide will be upstairs, outside the exit waiting for you.
