Now it’s nature reserve with green meadows, old oak trees and farms with horses. Paddling silently by narrow fjord is great chance to spot beavers. Don’t forget to look around. An osprey or a white-tailed sea eagle may just fly above your head. You can also spot other coastal birds including oystercatchers, grey heron, lapwing, cormorant, seagulls.
Sheltered water, without traffic of ferries and bigger vessels are beginners friendly and will be perfect choice for family canoe trip. There are nice places to make a break for BBQ, swimming spots, fishing and even hiking trails. It’s worth taking a break to stretch your legs, hike and perhaps pick up some berries in the woods.
