Upon arrival in Sant Sadurní, the scent of cocoa greets us in this charming town, home to Catalonia’s finest chocolate and Cava. A short walk brings us to a historic, family-run winery crafting premium organic Cava. We’ll tour the cellars, witness production steps, and taste various vintages in a peaceful courtyard.

Lunch features a 4-course seasonal menu with wine at an excellent village restaurant. Afterward, we visit a 175-year-old chocolate factory for a sensory journey through chocolate’s history and flavors. We return to Barcelona by late afternoon, enriched by the tastes, stories, and scenery of a truly authentic Catalan experience that blends tradition, craftsmanship, and culinary delight in one unforgettable day. We will take the train from Catalunya Square. The travel time is approx. 60 minutes in an air-conditioned train. For us the train is the most sustainable means of transportation in Spain. It is safe and convenient.

Strolling through the picturesque town of Sant Sadurní d’Anoia reveals charming narrow streets, quaint squares, and a peaceful atmosphere steeped in Catalan tradition. Surrounded by rolling vineyards, the town offers a perfect blend of history, local culture, and small-town warmth.

We will visit a family run, tradition Cava maker where we will learn all about Cava making and we will have an extensive tasting of several of their organic Cavas.

For lunch we will go to an excellent restaurant in the village where will have a 4 course menu with half a bottle of wine per person included. Since 1999 the restaurant has been offering market-based cuisine that highlights seasonal ingredients at their peak. Their modern and creative dishes blend innovation with tradition, using new techniques to preserve the essence of each ingredient, all with a commitment to quality, humility, and perseverance.

We will visit the local chocolate factory that has been making exquisite chocolate for more than 100 years. We learn about the origins and the production and will have an abundance of chocolate to taste.

We will return by train to the starting point in Barcelona. The train ride takes approx. 60 minutes.
