The day trip begins by a pick up from your hotel or desired pick up location in Mombasa at around 8 am drive through the City Center towards the historical old town (kibokoni) where you find the famous Fort jesus museum which was designed by italian Giovanni Battista and was built between 1593 and 1596 by the oder of king Philip of portugal to guard the old port of Mombasa.
There you can learn everything there is to be learnt about Mombasa and how it evolved. landscape of disused limestone quarries into vibrant and diverse ecosystem of forest, grasslands and ponds.Currently, Haller Park plays host to a variety of wildlife including hippos, giraffes, buffalos, and antelopes as well as smaller mammals and birds.
The Park was the first recipient to be honoured with the United Nations Environmental Program Global 500 Roll of Honour award for the unique, ecologically sound and successful rehabilitation undertaken. Walk in the workshop and watch how its all done, you will be amazed at what can come out from a simple piece of wood. After the tour of the workshops, you will have a chance to shop and buy some of the carvings and souvenirs that you might have liked in the workshops. They can also ship them abroad for you.
After you are satisfied with shopping it’s now time to take you back to your hotel or drop off point in time for dinner
