About this experience

Take a private hiking tour going to the Telegraph Stone combined with beach time at one of the most beautiful beaches in town.

Get picked up at your hotel and drive to the west area of the city of Rio. The route passes through Rio’s most famous beaches and winding roads laying beside the ocean while our guide comments about the wonderful landscapes, locations ideal for photo stops and contemplation.

Once there, hike 1,5km in 50 min each way, at a medium level of difficulty with slightly steep stretches and rough terrain, to the top with several viewpoints. From the top, Telegraph Stone is 354 m above sea level with a sweeping vista over the vastness of the valleys, lakes, mountains laying all beside the ocean.

After some time to walk around and take that famous photos at the tip of the cliff, we make the way back down.

Detailed itinerary

1

To start the day, our private guide picks you up at your place and drive to the beginning of the trail about 1:20 away from the main part of Rio, in the West area of it. Since It’s a distant place with a large flow of visitors, it’s essential to start the Pedra do Telégrafo trail very early to avoid long lines and waits for the famous pictures on it.

We then go uphill towards to Telegraph Stone which is a rather steep trail, but nothing that needs to be climbed. The trail has a length of 1,5 km and lasts around 50 minutes at a normal pace.

Looking at the horizon and enjoying a little bit of Rio de Janeiro leaves your energies renewed and your eyes enchanted. Too worth the visit!

2

Right after doing the trail, have a fantastic lunch at a naturally rustic seafood restaurant set in a tree house in the rainforest. The scenery over the sandbank fills the eyes, seeing the mangrove with its islets of abundant vegetation and beach views as far as the eye can see. (Lunch is not included in the tour price)

3
Stop 3

We then visit the delightful beach of Grumari outside of the main tourist circuit, making it a great option for those who want to escape the crowds and enjoy the beach in peace.

It’s certain a destination for those who want to be closer to nature, swim, surf or simply want to plant themselves in a beach chair and relax having appetisers and sipping drinks beachfront.

4

After having such a delightful day, have brief stop to taste the original delicious cachaça at the only distillery in Brazil to produce it without heavy metals and superior alcohols, and yet zero copper.
