Lavaux is famous among different countries as a terraced wine-grape growing region in the canton of Vaud, western Switzerland.

Lavaux extends over Lausanne to Montreux, reaching an altitude of 500 meters above sea level and involving several tiny villages and the City of Vevey. Besides, in 2007 Lavaux has been acknowledged as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The region is best known for the production of fresh and fruity dry white wine from the Chasselas grapes.
