Detailed itinerary

1
Stop 1

Ubud Monkey Forest is one of those places that combines nature, culture, and a bit of adventure all in one. Nestled in the heart of Ubud, this lush sanctuary is home to hundreds of long-tailed macaques, but it’s much more than just a spot to see monkeys. The forest is also a deeply spiritual place for the locals, housing ancient temples and statues that are intertwined with the natural surroundings, making it feel like a scene straight out of a Balinese myth.

2
Stop 2

The Tegallalang Rice Terrace is one of those places in Bali that leaves you in awe from the moment you arrive. Nestled in the heart of Ubud’s highlands, these famous terraces are a masterpiece of both nature and human ingenuity. With their perfectly carved steps of vibrant green rice paddies, they stretch out as far as the eye can see, creating a cascading landscape that looks like something out of a postcard.

3
Stop 3

Dive deeper into Balinese culture with a visit to Tirta Empul Temple, a sacred site where locals perform traditional water purification rituals. You’re welcome to observe or even participate (melukat) in the bathing pools. This temple has been a place of spiritual healing for over a thousand years.

4
Stop 4

Tegenungan Waterfall is one of those hidden gems in Bali that strikes the perfect balance between adventure and tranquility. Located just outside of Ubud, it’s a stunning escape into nature, where the sound of rushing water drowns out the world and the lush greenery transports you to a tropical paradise. What I love most about Tegenungan is how accessible it is, making it a perfect day trip for anyone staying in Ubud or the surrounding area.

One of the best things to do at Tegenungan is to take a dip in the pool at the foot of the falls. The water is cool, and the setting feels almost magical, with the waterfall roaring in the background. There are also plenty of great spots for photos, especially if you climb up a bit higher to get a bird’s-eye view of the falls. If you’re not into swimming, simply relaxing on the rocks and taking in the scenery is equally rewarding.
