The town of Levanto is of ancient foundation, nestled in a valley covered with olive trees, vines and pines and directly overlooking the sea.

Part of its territory also falls within the Cinque Terre National Park and the Cinque Terre Marine Protected Area.
The Cinque Terre are a rugged stretch of coast of the eastern Ligurian Riviera (La Spezia Riviera) located in the territory of the province of La Spezia, between Punta Mesco and Punta di Montenero, in which there are five villages (three municipalities and two hamlets) or, as they used to say in ancient times, "lands", which listed from north to south are: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, Riomaggiore.
In Manarola, can relax by bathing in the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea, taste typical products in the local shops or wander around this small fishing village part of a territory declared a UNESCO heritage site
Riomaggiore, like the other Cinque Terre, is squeezed between the Ligurian Sea and the steep mountain range that detaches itself from the Apennines at Mount Zatta and descends in a south-eastern direction, acting as a watershed between the Val di Vara and the coastal area. The historic center, whose original nucleus dates back to the 13th century, is located in the valley of the Rio Maggiore stream, the ancient Rivus Major from which the village takes its name
Vernazza is the second of the towns that make up the Cinque Terre, in a bay between the municipalities of Monterosso al Mare and Riomaggiore. It also includes the subsequent village of Corniglia, a fraction of it.
Monterosso al Mare is at the center of a small natural gulf, protected by a modest artificial reef, to the east of Punta Mesco on the La Spezia Riviera. It constitutes the westernmost part of the Cinque Terre.
