We will start the guided tour of Bilbao in the Plaza de Santiago, in front of the Cathedral. We will visit the interior of this Bilbao temple, declared a World Heritage Site, to learn about its extraordinary works of sacred art.
After visiting the Cathedral, we will enter the Seven Streets to the Ribera Market, where you can find a wide variety of traditional products of Basque cuisine along with the brief visit to the church of San Antón.
After strolling through the most central streets of Casco Viejo, such as Calle del Correo, we will arrive at Plaza Nueva, a perfect example of the neoclassical architecture that houses the Royal Academy of the Basque Language. Leaving through one of the arches of the square, we will visit the Plaza of the universal writer Miguel de Unamuno,
Entrance fees to the Cathedral
We will visit the interior of the cathedral, we will see the main altar along with all the chapels that open in the aisles, we will access the sacristy and finally we will see one of the two late-Gothic cloisters that exist in Vizcaya.
We will briefly visit the church of San Antón, one of the founding churches of the town of Bilbao.
We will stay at the main door of the cathedral of Santiago de Bilbao, which is located in the same square that has its name. I will carry an identification. Out of respect for the members of the group, punctuality is requested, so it is recommended to be at the meeting point 10 minutes before.
