About this experience

Safari starts with pick up from a Nairobi hotel or airport. After a safari briefing, depart Nairobi by 0800hrs driving through the floor of the Great Rift Valley and past the base town of Narok to arrive Masai Mara. In the afternoon, enjoy the evening game drive in Masai Mara National Reserve. Dinner and overnight at Mara Explorer Backpackers Camp (en-suite tent wing)/Mara Sopa Lodge/Mara Leisure Camp).

The Ngorongoro Crater offers some of the best wildlife viewing in Africa. All the major safari animals occur in great numbers. The resident population of black rhino is a real treat, as rhino are very difficult to spot elsewhere in Tanzania. The crater is also home to some very impressive elephant bulls with huge tusks. Lake Manyara is a shallow, alkaline lake at the base of the Western Rift Valley escarpment. The park has a remarkable variety of habitats in a small area. The park entrance leads to a beautiful groundwater forest. Other habitats include the grassy floodplain, rocky escarpment and acacia woodland, all of which can be covered in a half-day visit. Deeper into the park a visit to the hot springs (Maji Moto) is recommended. Procced with game drive till afternoon then drive towards Arusha for your own hotel drop off or Airport drop off
