About this experience

Enjoy an exciting and adrenaline filled sail around Rodney Bay or further afield, learning the skills and techniques of sailing a race yacht. As you harden the sails and the yacht heels over, feel the exhilaration of flying through the water, perhaps even with you at the helm. So come and join us for a full or half day experience. And remember no experience necessary to feel the thrill of Papagayo our 40-foot (12-meter) racing yacht. Participation isn’t mandatory,— you can simply relax and enjoy the ride if you prefer. Water and soft drinks are provided. Choose a morning or afternoon tour or a full day.

What you'll see

Your adventure on Rodney Bay starts as you board the Papagayo, a sleek racing yacht built for speed but also spacious and comfortable.

Listen to a rundown of the boat’s safety features and procedures from your experienced crew, and be introduced to the various sailing equipment and aspects, including hoisting the main sail, trimming the sails, winching and flying the jib.

As you sail across Rodney Bay and past Pigeon island, practice any of the skills that you wish to try under the watchful eyes of your crew — you can even take the helm of the boat! Work as a team to sail the yacht around the bay, or just sit back and watch the action if you prefer not to participate.

Either way, you’ll enjoy a fabulous morning or afternoon on the Caribbean Sea, relishing the sea breeze and admiring views of St Lucia’s mountainous coastline and turquoise water.
