TOUR PROGRAM :

Pick you up at your hotel in Da Nang or Hoi an at 8:00 a.m.

A day of art awaits on this tour from Hoi An or Da Nang  to Tam Thanh Mural Village. Firstly, you will visit the town of Tam Ky, located across the 1 400m Cua Dai bridge, which plays an important role in the development of the district. Along the way, you have chance to discover dazzling, remote, largely unpopulated beaches, punctuated with occasional fishing communities, and mile after mile of scenic rural farms and villages.

Next, We visit the Vietnamese Heroic Mother Statue, where you will have about 30 minutes to explore. The statue resembles "Heroic Mother" Nguyen Thi Thu, who was from Dien Thang Commune, Dien Ban District, in the province and whose 11 children and grandchildren all died in Vietnam's liberation struggle.

After that, it is time to head to Tam Thanh Mural Village. A large group of volunteers from Korea, following the project “Art for better community”, turned their artistic talents into transforming the Tam Thanh fishing village in Quang Nam into the first mural village of Vietnam.

If Tam Thanh was just another quaint Vietnamese fishing village in a little less than a year ago, it has now completely transformed into a beautiful living art gallery that celebrates the local culture, people and nature. This amazing makeover was thanks to a joint initiative by the Korean Community Art Exchange Program and the Vietnamese People’s Committee of Quang Nam Province to bring art to the people. The project was carried out over the course of two weeks in the summer of 2016 by five Korean artists, seven Vietnamese artists, and a group of local volunteers to complete over 100 murals.

As we strolled down the main road of the village, we felt as if we had stepped into unicorn land with an unexpected explosion of colors. Each house had its own story with unique themes and color palettes, from beautiful Vietnamese girl with the most mesmerizing eyes, to funny character from Frozen popping out of an alleyway, to a piece of satire art with a hidden meaning. We even got to meet a tailor and his family who were the subject of a beautiful wall art in his own home. Every time we looked into an alleyway, we came across more beautiful murals trailing down the houses toward the beach. It truly was an amazing experience.

It took the volunteers 20 days from start to finish to complete the project entitled ‘Tam Thanh Mural Village – Art for a Better Community’
