Barong And Kris Dance is usually played by two men, wearing a creepy lion mask. He rattles constantly from his mouth and embodies the good. His opponent is the wicked witch Rangda with frightening eyes and hair. The dance is meant to dispel evil. There's not a good explanation of the meaning of the word Barong. However Barong has a second name, namely Banaspati Raja (King of the jungle). The classic Barong is the Barong Keket. This does not correspond to any animal. Besides, there are two other forms : Barong Berutuk (young men, wrapped in banana leaves with a mask) and Barung Landung (two giant puppets, performing a dialogue and singing folk songs).
Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary occupies 27 lush, green acres at the lower end of Jalan Monkey Forest in the village of Padang tegal. Home to over 400 long tailed macaques (Macaca fascicularis) which are divided into 4 groups that occupy different areas of the park, it is an important cultural and spiritual site that welcomes upwards of 10,000 visitors each month. The Monkey Forest Sanctuary is actually owned and operated by the village of Padang tegal, with village members serving on a governing council that seeks to uphold the integrity of the grounds while promoting it as a tourist destination.
Tegalalang Rice Terrace forms the three most splendid terraced landscapes in Ubud's shared region, with the others being in the villages of Pejeng and Campuhan. The rice terrace alone offers a scenic outlook that spreads down before you and away to the rice paddies on the slopes across the valley. The high roadside location is cool and breezy and it is a well-known spot for tourists to stop and take photos. Once you are at Tegalalang Rice Terrace, you can enjoy the view from on top but it's also possible to hike down and walk up on the other side again.
Kintamani Volcano provides spectacular views of this crater lake and Mount Batur, set in a vast volcanic caldera. You can view Batur's rugged features of dark lava slopes and black molten rocks from the village's roadside. The lush green vegetation and the blue-green coloured lake serves as a stark contrast. Mount Batur in Kintamani is popular for climbing. You can observe the sunrise from the ridges of this Bali volcano on early morning treks. From high, you can enjoy the vista overlooking the large and beautiful Batur caldera to its northwest.
Tirta Empul Temple is beautiful temple complex and holy mountain spring located in the village of Manukaya in central Bali. The site serves as a legendary setting of a traditional tale about good versus evil, its also a national cultural heritage site. The temple pond has a spring which gives out fresh water regularly, which Balinese Hindus consider to be holy or amritha where Balinese Hindus go to for ritual purification to cleanse their souls and ward off evil. Another nearby and prominent site on top of a hill is the presidential palace, Istana Tampaksiring, built during the years of the nation first president, Soekarno.
The best time to visit this Tegenungan Waterfall is during the sun half-rises at 09.00 am and a half-set at 03.00 pm. However, for those who want to have an amazing picture of the waterfalls, the right time to take a picture is in the evening. In case you come in the morning, you will believe that it is hard to get a respectable photo by virtue of the light coming into your camera to be substandard contrasted with the blazing light emissions morning sun so that your photographs will be over uncovered.
