Important notes

Introduction
At 19,340 feet (5,895m) Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa...The base of the mountain is nearly 50 miles (80km) long and 25 miles (40km) and contains three peaks in various stages of erosion...Shira on the west side, Mawenzi on the east and Kibo in the center...The youngest peak, Kibo, is covered by three large ice fields and is the location of the highest point on Kilimanjaro...

Sometimes known as the 'Coca-Cola' route, because it is the most popular

route up the mountain, the Marangu Route is in fact probably followed by

ninety percent of all climbers. It has a well defined path, which has

been well set out and where most obstacles have been modified to make

them 'climber friendly'. Accommodation on this route is in purpose built

mountain huts providing adequate shelter and even bottled water, beer

and soft drinks ( at high altitude prices!). Despite the human traffic

(it can be fun to mingle with climbers from all over the world), this is

a very scenic route with good views of Mawenzi and excellent prospects

for viewing wildlife.

Prices are based on 2 adults sharing a room and the length of stay at

hotel. Offer subject to availability at the time of booking. Price may

vary depending on flight and hotel availability and changes in exchange

rates. Terms and Conditions apply.
