The medieval town settled at the beginning of the Peljesac peninsula best known for its stone walls (second largest in the world) and salt production. Ston is a small, laid-back fishing town, which boasts some dramatic views - think crumbling churches, olive groves and a stunning coastline.
The walls are much longer than those of its more famous neighbour, Dubrovnik, at 5km in length. This makes them the longest defensive structure in Europe; they are sometimes referred to as the ‘European Walls of China”.
