Currently, there are 44 orphaned elephants at the ETH and Dr. Vijitha Perera, the dedicated Senior Veterinary Surgeon of the Department of Wildlife and Conservation (DWC), who is in-charge of the ETH has his hands full, looking after the youngsters.
