Create memories and add a local touch to your time in Morocco with this leisurely but exciting “Farm Life Excursion”! Learn about the farming way of life and local culture in Morocco on this day trip. After pick-up in Fez and a 40-minute ride, you’ll arrive at an organic farm in the Atlas mountains. Tour around the farm to see farmers growing seasonal fruits and vegetables and learn about their techniques.
Next, enjoy a delicious, traditional meal made from local ingredients – you’ll savor tajine with organic vegetables, barbecued chicken with olive and lemon and salad. This farm cooking experience would not be complete without learning how to make authentic Moroccan bread, cooked in a traditional oven called a “farna”.
Following lunch, you can do a variety of activities such as feeding the farm animals, milking cows and goats, touring the area by bicycle, or just take some free time to relax, enjoy the fresh air, and people-watch! Later on in the day, you’ll drive to Ain Chifa to visit the women’s goat Fromagerie Cooperative, where you’ll have the opportunity to learn more about their hand-crafted goat products. Watch traditional local techniques being used, and enjoy a cheese-tasting experience. At 6:30 PM, you’ll leave for Fez with a new perspective on Moroccan farming and culture!
