Daily Sailing Cruise on Thassos

Our daily charter includes sailing towards the south-eastern coast of the island. Our first stop is Salonikios cape for swimming and breakfast. On the way there we will pass by the remote island of Panagi, a protected marine eco-system under the EU’s NATURA 2000 policy. You will see seagulls and cormorants (Shags) build their nests on the coastline. It is even possible to see dolphins in their natural habitat. After our first stop, we set sail all way up the eastern coast of the island. The beautiful coastline and breathtaking views make for a relaxing and unforgettable cruise.

On our way to Archangelos Monastery we will sail by Giola, a natural shaped pool formation among the rocks. Then we will continue our journey towards the Archagelos Monastery and its secluded beach, which was once the monastery’s old port. Here you will have free time to enjoy the location's turquoise waters whilst we prepare an appetizer.

Then we will anchor in Aliki where Phoenicians used to quarry and load Thassian marble on their ships millennia ago. Swim in crystal clear water next to the sunken quarry where seawater is mixed with fresh water, visit the Roman theatre dating from 197 B.C, Byzantine church ruins built on roman temples and admire the view of the open sea of northeast Aegean sea. Here we will stop for lunch, which will be prepared by the crew. We will then have free time during which those who wish may try some fishing as well (we will provide you with all the necessary equipment).

If desired, we can offer you an additional stop. We continue our route further north along the east coast, with its deep green forest covered mountains, towards Paradise beach. A place where pine trees reach the shore and the green island of Koinura lies directly opposite.

To conclude, we will retrace our steps towards Potos. On the way back we shall stop for an afternoon dessert and swimming in Saint Anna beach or in Rosogremos beach.

Our day trips start and finish from Potos or Limenaria located in the southern part of the island, leaving at 10:00am and returning at 18:00pm. Our regular excursion include your own brand new sailing boat (HANSE 385) with an experienced skipper and co-skipper. All fuel and taxes, drinks (coffee, wine, juice and soft drinks) are included in the price. While you are swimming, sunbathe or simply relax, we will prepare your meal. This comes as option of either an apetizer and main course with Greek salad or a traditional mezes accompanied with Ouzo. Not included is transfer to and from the port but can be easily arranged.
