Departure from the Hotel Oriente of Bari at 9.00 am.
You will meet a tour guide and will start the walking tour (about 2 h 30 m) from Piazza Vittorio Veneto, enjoying the panoramic view on the Sasso Barisano. Matera is one of the most suggestive city in Southern Italy, it will be a unique experience. You will head towards Via Duomo, the access road to the oldest part of the town where
you will be fascinated to discover the existence of cave houses where some inhabitants lived until the first half of the 20th century and rupestrian churches with wonderful frescoes. Finally we will reach the Cathedral of Santa Maria della Bruna, built in the Apulian Romanesque style. At the end of the visit, departure towards Alberobello.
Arrived in Alberobello you will walk and visit the city independently. Alberobello is a UNESCO site since 1996, thanks to the high presence of Trulli, rural stone architecture, with conical roofs that are still used by the inhabitants. Walking through the characteristic streets you can enter in a trullo to buy the typical products of the area or visit the Trullo church. Return to Bari
