Detailed itinerary

1

8.00AM Our guide and vehicle pick you up at any hotel in Hanoi (or meet you at our meeting point of Hanoi Opera House if you do not request for a pickup at your location) then depart for Cuc Phuong national park. It will take approximate 2.5 hours to get to Cuc Phuong (The park was officially opened in 1960 as the first nature reserve in Vietnam).

2

On arrival to the Park gate, you get entrance tickets then keep going further to the Park Center. You first visit the “Cave of Pre-historic Man", the limestone cave, which was excavated in 1966. It was one of the earliest discoveries of human habitation in the country, with graves, stone axes, bone-made spears and tools dating back some 7,500 years. During the excavation 44 years ago, archaeologists found skeletons in three tombs where they believed prehistoric people had lived in the forest 7,500 years ago. In 2000, archaeologists discovered a fossilised sea reptile called placodontia, the first to have been found in Southeast Asia, dating back 200-300 million years.

3

Then keep going into the park central. You will have lunch at house-on-stilted in the park central. Taking a short trek into the National Park for sightseeing and learn more of fauna and flora in this oldest forest of Vietnam, to the giant ancient tree of 1000 years old in middle of the jungle.

4

The next visit will be an "Endangered Primate Rescue Centre" which is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rehabilitation, breeding, research, and conservation of endangered primates, and to the protection of their habitats.

5

Get back to the van and take 2.5 drive back to Hanoi. End this tour around 6.30pm at your hotel.
