Detailed itinerary

1

Walvis Bay is a port town on the coast of Namibia. Sheltered by the Pelican Point sand spit, its tidal lagoon is home to abundant birdlife including flamingos, pelicans and Damara terns. The harbor is busy with fishing boats and ships. Dolphins, whales and Cape fur seals inhabit the Atlantic waters around the Pelican Point Lighthouse. East of the bay, coastal sand dunes like Dune 7 mark the start of the Namib Desert.

Stop 2

Swakopmund is a German settlement on the coast of Namibia from the 1900's, just before the first world war. Situated 30km north of Walvis Bay in the mouth of the Swakop river. Light-heartedly referred to as "Little Germany" by many travelers, the building style in the old part of town is destinctly German.

On your private tour you will see the majestic dune belt, and with a short visit to Dune 7 you can touch and see the sand up close.

Once in Swakopmund, there is no set route or tour, as you have a wide variety of things to do. On every tour agenda is the Railway platform that has been restored into a high end hotel now. From there there are many options, like the Steam Tractor "Martin Luther", the Swakopmund museum at the lighthouse, or the Krystall Gellerie, home of the largest quartz crystal.

There are also many old buildings to view, but if this is not your kind of thing, and you prefer to walk in between the small streets to shop and explore, this will be accommodated. If you want to sit in a coffee shop and rest for a while, this too, will be done. Just tell your guide what you have in mind for Swakopmund, and it will be done.

Please remember that if you want to buy any curios in Swakopmund that you will need a copy of your passport.

You will have some free shopping time and a city tour
