Your experienced, knowledgeable, English-speaking guide from Fes Desert Trips will pick you up from your hotel or riad at 10 am to explore Fes Medina and its souks. You will get to see the world famous tanneries, the oldest university in the world and stunning coranic school, and get a tour of the city walls and the lovely gates that lead in and out of the medina and breathtaking panoramic view of the old city then visit the ceramic factory, the royal palace as well as the Mellah (Jewish quarter).
You will begin the visit with the guided walking tour of the medina itself, a UNESCO world heritage site, which is a labyrinth of 9,600 twisting, turning alleyways and the largest urbanized pedestrian area in the world. Here we will first visit Seffarine Square where you can see (and hear!) the metalworkers playing there trade in the traditional manner using copper, brass and pewter. On you go through the snaking passageways to visit the famous tanneries then the Al-Quarawiyyine University
