Leshan Giant Buddha, a must-see of Chengdu, was listed as the World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1996 together with Mount Emei. This private day tour offers you the chance to visit it from Chengdu. Stop 1

Local tour guide will pick you up from your Chengdu downtown hotel at appointed time. It takes about 2 hours driving, talk with your guide to learn more Buddhist history and culture on the way. Upon arrival, have an early lunch at well-selected local restaurant because it will probably be around noon.

Then the actual sightseeing starts. Step into the park where the Buddha is located, see its hair featuring 1,021 buns coiled and embedded in the massive head, walk down the twisting staircase to the 233-foot (71-m) statue, admire its symmetrical posture and the solemnity of its perpetual stillness. After you return to the top of the cliff, visit Wuyou Temple to see hundreds of seated arhats, and then view the architecture of Lingyun Temple. If you want to see the panoramic view of the Buddha, you may take a boat at your own cost, your guide will be happy to help.

Afterwards, enjoy relaxing transfer back to Chengdu and drop-off at your hotel.
