Ouzoud or Izid in some regions means "the act of grinding grain" in Berber. This seems to be confirmed by the frequent mills in the region, that were used to grind wheat for decades.

Surrounded by hundreds of acres of beautiful countryside, trees, and small sleepy local villages, the famous Ouzoud waterfall is a spectacular sight. At around 110 meters in height and with stunning crashing waters, it’s well worth a visit if you need a break from Marrakech.
It takes a three-hour drive from Marrakech to get there and along the way you’ll be able to see the surrounding countryside, including imposing red cliffs and vast expanses of oleander flowers. There’s also a good chance you’ll catch a glimpse of some Barbary apes.
The Ouzoud waterfall is fantastic for birdwatchers thanks to the variety of bird species found in the area and is also popular with walkers who explore the nearby trails.
