About this experience

Pamukkale means ‘cotton castle’ in Turkish – and you'll see why as soon as you set eyes upon its magical landscape. Heading deep into the Anatolian countryside, you’ll also visit Hierapolis, Lake Salda and Cleopatra’s Pool. Leaving Antalya early in the morning, you’ll arrive at Lake Salda Lake after a few hours’ scenic drive. It’s been compared to the Maldives for its long beaches and multi-toned blue waters. You’ll have free time to wander around and savour the beauty of the location You’ll then head to Pamukkale for lunch. Afterwards, catch a peek of the bright white terraces before exploring the ruins of Hierapolis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then let off steam with a dip in Cleopatra’s Ancient Pool.

Driving from Antalya Area to Salda Lake and Pamukkale

The first thing to explore when you arrive is the Cotton Castle. Also known as the Calcium Terraces, this white-washed mountain impresses visitors with its size and beauty. On the edges of this calcium mountain, there are naturally-shaped terraces that are filled with thermal water.
This place is also famous with the ancient city of Hierapolis. This ancient Greek and Roman settlement used to be an important commercial and spiritual centre during antiquity.
During your free time, you may visit another well-known site of the area, the Cleopatra’s Pool. This antique thermal pool is a complex of multiple thermal springs and is known for easing the bones’ and muscles’ pain.
