After leaving Marmaris, our first stop will be Lake Köyceğiz in approximately 40 minutes.
Lake Köyceğiz is an alluvial dam lake located in the Muğla province of Turkey. With an area of 5200 hectares, the lake is one of the largest coastal lakes in the country. It is named after the town of Köyceğiz on the northern shore. It is connected to the Mediterranean by a narrow, reed-lined canal called "Dalyan", which passes through a town of the same name (Dalyan) and the ancient city of Kaunos. The Dalyan canal joins the sea at İztuzu Beach.
The lake is fed by the Namnam and Yuvarlakçay rivers and a series of mountain streams. The water of the streams, meltwater and freshwater wells mixes with the hot sulphurous water released from a fault line and the slightly salty, oxygenated water flowing up the river with the rising tide. The depth of the lake varies between 20 and 60 meters. Fish are abundant in the lake.
Our next stop; The hidden paradise Köyceğiz Toparlar Waterfall has hosted many local and foreign visitors. After a pleasant and uphill road, the sound of the waterfall is heard, and after a 15-minute walk, the hidden paradise is reached. We will swim in Toparlar Waterfall, we will go down and up the rocks with our equipment to the Toparlar River, it is a perfect spot for this activity.
After resting a bit at the end of the program in Toparlar Canyon, we go to the Yuvarlakçay National Park for lunch in the late afternoon. You will have a great time while having your lunch in a dense forest environment with various trees and by the side of a wide, fast-flowing stream. Guests who wish can swim in this cool spring water.
