Taiwan Sugar Museum (aka Qiaotou Sugar Refinery), located in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, is a historic sugar factory that dates back to the Japanese colonial era. Originally built in 1901, it played a key role in Taiwan’s sugar industry and economic development.

Today, the site has been transformed into a cultural and creative park, preserving many original factory buildings, machinery, and railway tracks. Lotus Pond, located in Zuoying District of Kaohsiung, Taiwan, is a scenic lake famous for its vibrant temples, colorful pagodas, and rich cultural atmosphere. Built in 1951, the pond is named after the lotus flowers that bloom on its surface during summer.

The area is best known for iconic landmarks such as the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas, the Spring and Autumn Pavilions, and the Confucius Temple. According to tradition, entering through the dragon's mouth and exiting through the tiger's mouth will turn bad luck into good fortune.

The lakeside walking and cycling paths offer a relaxing way to explore the area, while traditional snacks and street vendors nearby make it a lively local destination. Whether you're interested in culture, photography, or just a peaceful stroll, Lotus Pond is a must-visit spot in Kaohsiung.
