The museum has a history of more than 10,000 years, In this Museum you will be able to discover all of Oaxaca's history an explore all the exhibition rooms. The permanent exhibitions are distributed in 14 rooms and 13 temporary exhibition rooms, all in an archaeological, ethnological and historical panorama of Oaxacan cultures. In the archaeological rooms, the life of the first settlers of Oaxacan cultures is shown through the exhibition of vestiges found in different parts of the state in investigations and archaeological discoveries, a special highlight is given to the vestiges in tomb number 7 from Monte Alban.
Appreciate the different aspects of the cultures that are shown like religion, politics, military aspects, all this showed the resistance of the indigenous peoples before the conquest and their struggle for the conservation of their economy, identity, traditions, and customs.
