About this experience

In this tour we will head to Monywa by private coach. Monywa lies 136 km north-west of Mandalay. It is famous for the Standing Buddha Statue which is the second tallest in the world.  We will visit Thanboddhay pagoda, one of the most intricately decorated temples housing over 500,000 Buddha images. Then we go to Bodhi Thataung Standing Buddha Statue, which is the second tallest Buddha image in the world. Inside, Proceed to Po Khaung Taung, a small range of hills in the Monywa area. After that we will visit Aung Sakkya pagoda which is located on Po Khaung Taung. proceed to Shwe Ba Hill and Shwe Gu Ni Pagoda. Shwe Ba Hill is located on the west bank of Chindwin river .  Many caves and temples are carved o ut from the surrounding volcanic rocks and filled with ancient Buddha Images. Shwe Gu Ni pagoda is about 20 miles east of Monywa, there is a famous Shwe Gu Ni Pagoda dating from the 14th century.
