Our tour will start with a visit to Devrent Valley that is noted for its many strange shaped rock formations, which with a little imagination can be likened to seals, kneeling camels and various other animals. We will walk through this amazing valley.
Afterwards we continue to Pasabagi (Monk's Valley) with multiple stems and caps, peculiar to this area. The highly remarkable earth pillars characteristic to Cappadocia can be seen here. This site is also called Monks Valley.
After visiting Pasabagi, proceed to Avanos which attracts great attention for its locally produced red earthenware pots and jugs.
Avanos overlooks to the longest river of Turkey, the Kızılırmak (Red River), which also separates Avanos from the rest of Cappadocia.
We will have the lunch in Avanos.
Brief Pottery Presentation & Lecture (Optional Attendance).
Our final visit will be Goreme Open Air Museum, Cappadocia's most famous attraction. Goreme Open Air Museum is a complex of medieval painted cave churches carved out by Orthodox monks. There are over 10 cave churches, chapels and monasteries that were completely carved into rocks from the 10th to the 13th centuries with frescos painted on the walls. Our tour will include a visit to the Dark Church where the frescos bear a very special importance for the history of Byzantine Cappadocia and its art.
Before returning back to our hotel we will make an orientation tour around the region to take the photos of the unforgettable landscape of Cappadocia
