The Atlas Mountains and the day trip to Imlil are one of the most spectacular excursions in Marrakech if you want to get out of the city and dive into the authentic and rural side of Morocco. You will start this excursion from Imlil at 9:00 a.m. from Marrakech by a 4x4 Jeep vehicle or mini van for a 2 hour drive south of the Moulay Brahim Gorges, and the very popular Berber village of Asni for its weekly market every Saturday and then you cross Imlil which is a valley with a vibrant green that provides freshness even on the hottest days of summer. Imlil is a small village at the foot of the highest mountains in Toubkal Morocco. It is the hiring center for mountain guides and mules due to its unique location and its connection with several Berber villages and a very popular starting point for treks and coves for climbing Toubkal mountain. Arrival in Imlil, we will leave our vehicle to take mules for about 40 minutes south to the Berber village of Aroumd (Aremd) (1843m) located in the upper foothills of the mountains of the Western High Atlas, the main path with streams and paths going in all directions. You will then take your lunch which will be served in a Berber house in the village of Aroumd. Then you will have free time for a short walk before returning to Marrakech.
