On this day tour, you will explore the main 'Downton Abbey' film locations including Highclere Castle used as Downton Abbey, Bampton which is used as Downton village and Cogges Farm which is used as Yew Tree Farm. Leaving the hubbub of town, your morning will be spent visiting Downton Village and Yew Tree Farm and enjoying the picturesque Cotswold scenery and villages.

The first location that you visit is about 70 miles out of town and (depending on traffic) the journey lasts between 1.5 to 2 hours.

From here, you will set off to the heart of rural Oxfordshire most notably, you will visit Downton Village where you will get a guided tour of the village and see familiar sites such as exteriors of Downton hospital, the village pub, the former home of Matthew Crawley and the local church, amongst others. Following this guided tour you will be able to explore the village for yourself.
Then its off to the jewel in the crown of Downton Abbey filming locations - Highclere Castle. This nineteenth century castle which boasts 5000 acres of beautiful grounds is the centrepiece for any Downton fan. Here you will get a chance to explore the interiors of the castle including the library, dining room, bedrooms all with the aid of our DIY self guided leaflet. This location is also the perfect place for a spot of lunch and a long walk to see the stunning gardens.
