About this experience

Located within the Morne Seychellois National Park, Morne Blanc is quite the iconic mountain on Mahé, with its sheer cliff face. Starting above the Tea Tavern at the edge of the Tea Plantation at Sans Soucis, the plants are gradually replaced by a lush cinnamon forest with botanical specimens such as the two types of local Vacoa trees, the parasol and marron (wild).
As you continue along, depending on the season, you will also come across exotic fruit trees, such as the delicious jackfruit and jamalac (rose apple) trees. Further up the trail of moss covered rocks and trees and fern-covered forest floor, endemic birds such as the Seychelles Bulbul and Sunbirds. Finally, you will emerge on the viewing platform that will reward your efforts with magnificent views of the southern and western sides of Mahé.

Tea Tavern Glacis Nature trail.. This nature trail is short (20-30minutes) and easily accessible from the road between Victoria and Port Glaud. The path start just above the Tea Factory and is not far from the Morne blanc Nature trail and the Mission heritage site. The trail present a wonderful opportunity to view natural vegetation growing with little competition from introduced species, as it is part of a habitat restoration site in the Morne seychellois National Park. There are magnificent views to the West and South of Mahe Island.

The Morne Seychellois National Park is situated on the island of Mahe, the largest island of the Seychelles archipelago. Morne Seychellois covers an area of approximately 3,045 hectares, more than 20% of Mahe and made up of a mixture of mangroves, lush tropical jungles and tall mountains. It is 10km in length and between 2km and 4km wide, equipped with an extensive trail network, covering more than 15km.
