Begin your day with a scenic ride on the Montserrat cogwheel train, the most iconic way to reach the top of the mountain. As you ascend, you’ll have panoramic views of the Montserrat mountain range, famous for its dramatic rock formations and natural beauty.
Upon arrival, your guide will lead a guided tour of the Montserrat Monastery, introducing you to the history of this important Benedictine abbey and the role it continues to play in Catalan culture. Your visit includes admission to the Atrium and the Basílica of Montserrat.
There will also be time to explore at your own pace. After your visit, you’ll descend once again by cogwheel train to continue the experience.
At lunchtime, you’ll enjoy a multi-course meal at Bages 964, the restaurant located on the Oller del Mas estate. Their kitchen focuses on fresh, seasonal products, prepared with a balance of traditional Catalan flavors and modern touches. The menu changes throughout the year depending on what is in season, so dishes always feel honest, local, and well-prepared. The meal is served in a calm setting with views of the magical mountain: Montserrat.
After lunch, you’ll continue to the winery for a guided visit. Here you’ll learn about the estate’s organic winemaking and its commitment to recovering ancient native grape varieties, including the Red Picapoll, a unique grape reborn in this region. The experience concludes with a tasting of four organic gama alta wines, each reflecting the identity of the land and the character of the estate.
