We will embark on a minibus journey covering approximately 20 km to reach the Tierra Mayor Valley, a hub for various excursions. Our destination is the Nunatak refuge, situated in this picturesque valley.
Starting our trek from the refuge, we will traverse through peat bogs, streams, and the ancient forests of Lengas and Coihues, showcasing the typical vegetation of the region. And if we are lucky, we may even encounter local wildlife, including foxes, condors, and beavers.
We will continue our trek until we reach the captivating Emerald Lagoon, located at the heart of the Tierra del Fuego Nature Reserve and Landscape. The unique color of the water, along with its strategic location in the Cordillera Fueguina, invites us to pause along its shores, taking in the beautiful scenery. It's at this point that we'll be provided with our Lunch Box, allowing us to savor our meal surrounded by the natural beauty.
Upon concluding our time at the lagoon, we'll make our way back to the Nunatak refuge, following a different path from our initial route. This allows us to further explore and appreciate the diversity of the reserve.
