The famous Fingernail Island (Hon Mong Tay or “Hòn Móng Tay”) in Phu Quoc is located in the An Thoi archipelago and is part of the Phu Quoc Marine Park. Not to be confused with the northern Fingernail Island located off the coast of Vung Bau, the fingernail island located in An Thoi is your typical idyllic “Robinson Crusoe” like island – so much in fact that the locals even call it “Hon Robinson” (Hon means island in Vietnamese).
Hon Gam Ghi is an idyllic island and it is part of the An Thoi archipelago which consist of 17 different small islands. This island has a few lovely beaches and it is surrounded by coral. The beach here is very picturesque and you feel like you are truly in paradise. The sand here is a soft powdery white and the sea is clean and turquoise in color. The reef around the island is shallow which makes it perfect for snorkelling. The are a few hard coral species here. In terms of marine life, you may be able to see small fish, sea worms, and a variety of shell fish.
May Rut Island is located 10 kilometers south of An Thoi Town and it is widely considered to be one of Phu Quoc's best “all around” island. The island is privately owned by a small family who have been living here for many years and welcome all tourists to explore what this island has to offer. There's a nice white sand beach, offshore snorkeling and freediving opportunities, camping, and more all to be had on May Rut Island.
