Oishi Park is a calm lakeside stop with wide-open views across Lake Kawaguchiko, offering a relaxed setting to enjoy Mt. Fuji without rushing. Take an easy stroll along the shore, explore different photo angles, and simply slow down by the water. It’s also a pleasant place to take a short break—many travelers enjoy a soft-serve ice cream while soaking in the scenery.
Optional alternative: Instead of spending extra time at Oishi Park, you may choose to swap that time for a short visit to the nearby Kawaguchiko Music Forest Museum (tickets not included).
Optional alternative: Kawaguchiko Music Forest Museum (instead of extra time at Oishi Park)
If you prefer a cultural stop, you can swap extra lakeside time at Oishi Park for a short visit to the Kawaguchiko Music Forest Museum—an elegant, garden-style setting with music-themed exhibits and great photo spots. Please note the museum is not open every day and may have seasonal closure days (often Tue/Wed, and in winter sometimes additional days). Opening hours can also change, so we’ll visit only if it’s open on your travel date (subject to opening hours and availability).
Tickets are not included. Admission is approximately ¥1,800–¥2,300 per adult (may vary by day/season) and can be purchased at the entrance.
Oshino Hakkai is a traditional spring-water village fed by Mt. Fuji’s snowmelt, known for its crystal-clear ponds and a peaceful “old Japan” atmosphere. Stroll at an easy pace between a few of the most beautiful springs, enjoy photo time, and—if you’d like—take a small sip of the fresh spring water. You may also hear local folklore and stories tied to these waters. Small stalls are nearby, but the focus here is scenery and culture rather than shopping.
Arakurayama Sengen Park is home to the famous Chureito Pagoda viewpoint—one of Japan’s most iconic Mt. Fuji photo scenes. Walk up at your own pace and enjoy several photo moments along the way, from torii gates to mid-slope viewpoints with slightly different angles of Mt. Fuji.
Guests who continue to the upper viewpoint will take a stair climb for the classic “postcard” composition of Fuji and the pagoda. In spring you may see cherry blossoms, and in autumn colorful foliage (season and visibility dependent). This spot is very popular and can be crowded during peak periods.
Optional alternative (calmer option): If you prefer to skip the stairs, you may choose Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine instead—a peaceful cedar-lined shrine walk with stone lanterns.
Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine is a serene, atmospheric shrine tied to Mt. Fuji’s historic northern approach. The highlight is the cedar-lined path—towering trees, stone lanterns, and a quiet forest mood that feels like “old Japan.” Enjoy an easy stroll through the grounds, take photos in the cedar corridor, and experience a calmer, more cultural side of the Mt. Fuji area.
Optional alternative: This shrine visit can be chosen instead of the Arakurayama Sengen Park (Chureito Pagoda) stair climb for guests who prefer a gentler pace.
