The Gastro Tour Cholula is a gastronomic experience guided by the historic center of San Pedro Cholula, designed to discover the city through its cuisine, history and cultural diversity. During the tour, travelers visit up to 10 selected spaces, including restaurants, cafes, bakeries, beverage shops and local gastronomic projects. Tastings of various types of food and beverages are held at each stop.
The tour starts near the Great Pyramid and lasts approximately 3 hours. A chef and anthropologist specializing in sustainable gastronomy shares stories about the city, the ingredients of milpa and local gastronomic evolution. The experience takes place in small groups, ideal for international, national and local travelers.
During this experience travelers will walk through the historic center of San Pedro Cholula to discover its gastronomic diversity. We will visit more than 10 places selected from restaurants, cafes, sweet shops, ice cream shops, craft brewery and traditional shops. At each stop, participants can sample different tastings ranging from pre-Hispanic foods and traditional Mexican cuisine to contemporary and international proposals.
Throughout the tour, I will explain the history of each preparation, the local ingredients used and the cultural relationship they have with daily life in Cholula. You will also meet some producers, cooks and owners of the establishments, which makes the experience closer and more authentic.
We will start inside the restaurant MILLI Cocina de Maíces, located in Plaza La Estación shopping center. As you enter the square, walk to the bottom and head to the top right, next to the train tracks. The entrance to the restaurant is upstairs.
