First, we will pick you up from the Rovaniemi area and head towards Kotatuli’s farm. Along the way, you will see the beauty of Lapland’s nature and leave the bustle of the city behind.
Upon arrival at Kotatuli’s farm, you will be welcomed into a peaceful countryside setting and introduced to our horses. Together, we will prepare them for the ride, taking time to ensure the process is calm and comfortable for both horses and participants. Before setting off, we will go through important safety guidelines and discuss, as a group, how and where our ride will take place. You will also have the opportunity to learn more about the horses, their personalities, and their way of life here in Lapland, gaining insight into the bond between people and these gentle animals.
Our ride takes us off the beaten path and into the heart of Lapland’s nature. We follow peaceful forest trails and open paths, making our way up a fell where the views stretch far across the landscape. It’s a chance to slow down, breathe in the fresh Arctic air, and enjoy the company of the horses. If the terrain and everyone’s comfort level allow, we’ll add some excitement with gentle trots or even a canter—feeling the freedom and energy of riding through this magical northern scenery.
After the ride, we return to Kotatuli’s farm, where we gently remove the horses’ tack and thank them for their work. Once they are comfortably back in their paddock, we head to the traditional kota. Inside, the warmth of the fire welcomes us, and we relax together over hot drinks and a small snack. There’s time to enjoy local flavours such as grilled sausages and sweet pastries, share stories from the ride, and simply take in the cozy atmosphere before the journey back. It’s the perfect ending to a memorable day in Lapland.
After our time in the kota, we begin the drive back to Rovaniemi. The return journey offers one last chance to enjoy the peaceful Lapland scenery, leaving you with warm memories of the day’s experiences.
You will drive along a narrow gravel road for about 10 kilometers. At the end of the road, you will see a sign that says Kotatuli and a red log house on the right-hand side. The guides will be waiting to welcome you in the yard.
