Detailed itinerary

1

Oshino Hakkai (忍野八海) is a group of eight clear spring ponds located in the village of Oshino, between Lake Kawaguchiko and Lake Yamanakako in the Fuji Five Lakes area. These ponds were formed on the site of a former lake that dried up centuries ago. They are fed by melted snow from Mount Fuji, which takes over 80 years to filter through volcanic lava layers. The result is pure, clear spring water, highly valued by local residents.

2

Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine, also known as Chureito Pagoda (忠霊塔, Chūreitō), is a five-story pagoda located on a mountainside overlooking Fujiyoshida City with Mount Fuji in the background. It is part of the larger Arakura Sengen Shrine and was built in 1963 as a peace memorial. The pagoda stands about 400 steps above the main shrine buildings, offering a famous panoramic view.

3
Stop 3

Lake Kawaguchiko is the most visited of the Fuji Five Lakes and often serves as the main gateway to the area. It is the second largest lake by surface area and second shallowest, with a depth of about 14.6 meters. Located at an elevation of around 830 meters, the lake has cool summers and cold winters. It is especially popular in spring for cherry blossoms and in autumn for colorful fall foliage.

4
Stop 4

Ropeway tickets are not included in the tour package. The Mount Fuji Panoramic Ropeway climbs about 400 meters from the eastern shore of Lake Kawaguchiko to an observation point near the top of Mount Tenjo. The cable car ride offers scenic views as you rise 220 meters, and from the observation deck—located over 1000 meters above sea level—you can enjoy wide views of Lake Kawaguchiko and Mount Fuji.

5
Stop 5

Oishi Park is a scenic spot on the north shore of Lake Kawaguchiko, offering stunning views of Mount Fuji. Known for its seasonal flowers like lavender in summer and red kochia in autumn, it's a peaceful place for walking and photography. The park also features a café and local produce shop, making it a popular stop near Kawaguchiko Station.

6

Nenba Village (Saiko Iyashi-no-Sato Nenba) is a traditional thatched-roof village on the northwest shore of Lake Saiko, offering beautiful views of Mount Fuji. Rebuilt after a 1966 typhoon, it now serves as an open-air museum with craft shops, workshops, and cultural experiences like kimono dress-up. Visitors can enjoy seasonal scenery and learn about rural Japanese life.

7
Stop 7

The Mt. Fuji 5th Station is a popular stop for climbers and tourists, located about 2,300 meters above sea level. It offers shops, food, and scenic views. Access is usually by car or bus, but during the summer climbing season (July–September), only shuttle buses are allowed. In winter or bad weather, the road may close, making visits seasonal and not always possible.

8

Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine is one of around 1,300 Asama shrines in Japan, dedicated to the deity of volcanoes, especially Mount Fuji. It is part of the Mount Fuji UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site, recognized in 2013 for its cultural and spiritual significance.

9

Lake Yamanakako is the largest and highest of the Fuji Five Lakes, located about 980 meters above sea level. Known for its scenic views of Mount Fuji, it offers activities like boating, cycling, and hot springs. Nicknamed “Swan Lake”, it’s popular year-round for its seasonal flowers and peaceful atmosphere.

10

Gotemba Premium Outlets is Japan’s largest outlet mall, located near Mount Fuji. It features over 200 stores, including luxury and sports brands, with tax-free shopping and discounts. The mall also offers dining, a Ferris wheel, and services like free Wi-Fi and prayer rooms. On clear days, visitors can enjoy beautiful views of Mount Fuji, making it a popular stop for both shopping and sightseeing.
