About this experience

Experience the weightless of gliding through clear glacier water on this 4-hour diving tour from Thingvellir National Park. The slow current provides a perfect pace to explore this beautiful area with your certified dive instructor. The fresh water visibility found here is unrivaled--sometimes it is only limited by the density of the water itself. Depth varies, but dives are limited to 18 meters by park regulations. Rated a challenging dive, this small-group tour is limited to a maximum of 3 participants. Choose from one of three departure times when you book.

Important information

Not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries
Not recommended for pregnant travelers
Not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health
Travelers should have a high level of physical fitness
Minimum age: 18 years old
Winter departures: If the temperature falls below -0°C there is a possibility that the dive instructor will change the tour into just one dive due to safety reasons
This is a challenging dive where you need to be capable of carrying heavy equipment up to 400m
Since you are wearing a snorkeling/dive mask to see underwater, there can be nothing in the way of the seal to keep them from filling up with water. You cannot wear glasses underneath the mask. You will have to go without them, wear contact lenses, or bring your own goggles with prescription
*Guests need to have previous dry suit diving experience*. Your guide needs to see your Dry suit certification card, or a logbook showing that you have completed a minimum of 10 previous dry suit dives (signed by a dive professional). You need to have dived in a dry suit within the last 2 years to ensure that your skills are up to date and so you enjoy the dive.
Please wear warm undergarments (fleece/wool), and warm socks are required
Please bring a change of clothing. The change of clothing is a precaution since no dry suit can be 100% guaranteed to be dry unless it is made especially for you

Meeting point

The meeting point is ''Arctic Adventures Silfra Fissure'' in Thingvellir National Park. Guests park at ''Thingvellir P5'' then walk 400m along the road until you reach a smaller car park with all the snorkel and dive vans. Please arrive 15 MINUTES before your tour is due to begin.

Important notes

• Please note that dry-suit certification or a logbook showing at least 10 drysuit dives within the last 2 years must be presented to participate
• Guests must provide their height and weight prior to the tour
• Minimum age is 18 years
• Glasses cannot be worn under the mask - please wear contact lenses if required
• Please note that drysuit diving is different to wetsuit diving, as you have two forms of buoyancy to control- the BCD and the drysuit. It can be tricky in 2-4 degree water
• It is strongly advised to wait 24hrs after diving to fly
• Please wear warm undergarments (fleece/wool), and warm socks are required
• Please bring a change of clothing
• Guests must review our Diving Handbook prior to the adventure: https://adventures.is/media/230544/diving-silfra-guide-2022.pdf
