Detailed itinerary

1
Stop 1

Day 1 - Explore Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where you can walk between the diverging North American and Eurasian tectonic plates beneath towering cliffs. This remarkable site is also home to the world’s oldest still-functioning parliament, established in 930 CE, offering a powerful blend of natural wonder and historic significance.

2

Day 1 - Next, explore the Geysir Geothermal Area, the namesake of all geysers. While the original Geysir is now dormant, nearby Strokkur puts on a spectacular show, erupting every few minutes and shooting boiling water up to 25 meters into the air. This geothermal hotspot is a true highlight of Iceland’s volcanic landscape.

3
Stop 3

Day 1 - Finally, visit Gullfoss—“the Golden Falls”—one of Iceland’s most iconic and beloved waterfalls. Here, the mighty Hvítá River plunges in two dramatic stages into a rugged canyon, creating a thunderous roar and a mist that often catches the sunlight in golden hues. It's a breathtaking display of nature’s raw power and beauty.

4

Day 1 - After exploring the Golden Circle, you'll travel south to your hotel near the quaint town of Kirkjubæjarklaustur. This peaceful location is an ideal spot to look out for the mesmerizing Northern Lights—if the skies are clear and luck is on your side. Be sure to keep watch; you might just catch nature’s most magical light show.

5
Stop 5

Day 2 - In the morning, you’ll head east to the stunning Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and the nearby Diamond Beach. At the lagoon, icebergs of all shapes and sizes drift gracefully toward the Atlantic Ocean, creating a surreal and ever-changing landscape. Their striking colors—ranging from deep blue to crystal white—are the result of compressed glacial ice and natural light refraction.

6

Day 2 - At Diamond Beach, you'll see icebergs that have washed ashore, sparkling like diamonds against the black volcanic sand. As sunlight hits the ice, it creates a dazzling display of bright blue tones that make for an unforgettable walk along the coast. Keep an eye out for ocean birds—and with a bit of luck, you might even spot a curious seal playing in the waves.

7
Stop 7

Day 2 - From Jökulsárlón, head to Skaftafell Nature Reserve for a glacier hike led by a certified guide on Vatnajökull Glacier. Then, explore a natural ice cave, where you can photograph the stunning blue light filtering through the ice. Your guide will explain how these formations are created. The cave visited depends on conditions, with about two hours spent on the glacier and cave combined. This tour suits those comfortable walking on easy terrain. Remember to dress warmly, as temperatures inside the cave are well below freezing.

8

Day 3 - After a hearty breakfast, you’ll begin a relaxed drive back toward Reykjavik with several stops along the way. If road conditions allow, the day starts with a quick detour to the stunning Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon.

9

Day 3 - You’ll first explore the iconic Eldhraun lava field, a vast and dramatic landscape formed by ancient volcanic eruptions. Then, continue on to the striking Reynisfjara black sand beach, known for its powerful waves and basalt columns.

10
Stop 10

Day 3 - The powerful waves of the Atlantic Ocean crash dramatically onto the black sand beach, creating a stunning and unforgettable sight. Be cautious—these waves can be unpredictable, so always follow your tour guide’s safety instructions.

11

Day 3 - Skógafoss is a stunning waterfall that plunges 60 meters into a peaceful pool below. Climb the 527 steps to the top for breathtaking panoramic views. On clear days, you’ll also catch a glimpse of the famous Eyjafjallajökull volcano towering above the falls.

12
Stop 12 Pass by

Day 3 - On clear days, you’ll enjoy spectacular views of Mount Hekla as you travel toward Seljalandsfoss. This iconic volcano adds a dramatic backdrop to the scenic journey ahead.

13
Stop 13

Day 3 - This waterfall is one of the most unique in the world, offering the rare opportunity to walk behind the cascading water. Experience breathtaking views from both behind and in front of the falls.

14

Day 3 - After your final visit to Seljalandsfoss, your 3-day South Coast tour concludes as you travel back to Reykjavík. You’ll arrive between 16:00 and 19:00 depending on road and weather conditions. You will stay at Hotel in Reykjavík.

15
Stop 15

Day 4 - Deildartunguhver is a hot spring in Reykholtsdalur, Iceland. It is characterized by a very high flow rate for a hot spring and water emerges at 97 °C. It is the highest-flow hot spring in Europe. Some of the water is used for heating, being piped 34 kilometers to Borgarnes and 64 kilometers to Akranes.

16

Day 4 - Hraunfossar is a series of waterfalls formed by rivulets streaming over a distance of about 900 meters out of the Hallmundarhraun, a lava field that flowed from an eruption of one of the volcanoes lying under the glacier Langjökull.

17

Day 4 - Explore the amazing man-made ice tunnel in Langjökull glacier. The biggest ice-tunnel in the world of a total of approx. 600 meter long.
