Today we will visit Jiuxiang (full touringe time approximately 2 hours, admission, electric cart, and round-trip cable car are included in the tour). Formed during the Sinian Period 600 million years ago, Jiuxiang features over a hundred karst caves of varying sizes. It is China's largest cave system, with the most numerous caverns and most unique cave formations, earning it the title "Museum of Karst Caves" from experts. The site showcases remarkable geological features including: stromatolites,inverted stalactites,biogenic karst (also known as biogenic reef formations),rimstone pool clusters,underground plaza halls,dark canyons and fish-back rocks.Some formations are extremely rare in China, while others serve as real-world examples of geological phenomena previously only described in textbooks, earning widespread acclaim from experts both domestically and internationally.
