07:30-09:00 After picking up from various hotels in Tunxi, take a bus via Xiuning County (Zhuangyuan County) for about 1.5 hours to reach Hongcun Scenic Area.
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM Hongcun (approximately 2 hours) – Founded during the Shaoxi reign of the Southern Song Dynasty, Hongcun boasts a history of over 900 years. The ingenious Hongcun residents pioneered the use of bionics, designing and building a village and artificial waterways shaped like cows, creating a world-renowned wonder. Its unique form and beautiful rural scenery have earned it the nickname "the village in a Chinese painting." From 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, explore the Xidi Scenic Area, known as the "Peach Blossom Spring." A treasure trove of ancient residential architecture, Xidi is a shining pearl on the Huangshan tourist route, nestled against Huangshan Mountain to the north and overlooking Baiyue Mountain to the south. Xidi boasts convenient transportation. Over 300 ancient dwellings from the Ming and Qing dynasties remain in Xidi, 124 of which are well-preserved, earning it the nickname "Peach Blossom Spring." The architectural carvings, crafted in the Hui style of brick, stone, and wood, are exquisitely crafted, with intricate patterns and branches that seem to break with a pinch. The area is a favorite for art students sketching, and it's also a popular destination for photography enthusiasts.
Between 3:00 and 4:00 PM, you'll be transferred back to your hotel, high-speed rail station, or visit Hubuqi Snack Street and the Hui Cuisine Museum. Afterwards, you can explore and sample Huizhou specialties (such as Baofu dumplings, Jiaotou noodles, and crispy pastries) at your own expense.
