10:00 AM – Arrive in Agra & Visit the Taj Mahal
Upon arriving in Agra, your first stop is the breathtaking Taj Mahal – one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, this iconic white marble mausoleum stands as a timeless symbol of love. Construction began in 1632, shortly after Mumtaz passed away during the birth of their 14th child. While the main structure was completed by 1643, the surrounding gardens and buildings took another five years to finish. The deep sorrow felt by Shah Jahan inspired this architectural masterpiece, which continues to move visitors from around the world.
12:00 PM – Explore Agra Fort
Next, you'll visit the magnificent Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most important forts in Indian history. Once the main residence of the Mughal emperors, it served as the royal seat until 1638, when the capital shifted to Delhi. The fort later came under the control of the Marathas before being captured by the British. With its grand palaces, audience halls, and beautiful mosques, Agra Fort offers a fascinating glimpse into the Mughal era.
After your fort visit, you'll head to a local restaurant to enjoy a delicious lunch.
2:30 PM – Visit Itimad-Ud-Daulah (Baby Taj)
After lunch, you have the option to visit the charming Tomb of Itimad-Ud-Daulah, often nicknamed the “Baby Taj” for its striking resemblance to the Taj Mahal. This elegant Mughal mausoleum, sometimes referred to as a “jewel box”, is considered a precursor to the Taj Mahal and showcases exquisite marble inlay work and Persian-inspired architecture.
Note: This visit is optional and can be included based on your interest and available time.
04:00 PM - Drive back to Delhi
After completing your sightseeing in Agra, you’ll begin your comfortable drive back to Delhi. Upon arrival, our chauffeur will drop you off at your hotel or the airport, as per your preference. We hope you had a memorable day exploring the wonders of Agra!
