Cholamandal Artists’ Village, the largest artist’s commune in India. The artists living here run the Artists Handicrafts Association that organizes for the showcasing of the work in many galleries around the country and even abroad, making it a self-supporting entity. The village was associated with Madras Movement of Art as well which brought modernism to the art in South India.
