The tunnel was originally built to float bundled logs from Lake Näsijärvi to Lake Pyhäjärvi. However, it was never used for log driving and remained unused for over 40 years until it was finally opened in 2013 for boat transport, as well as for pedestrians and cyclists.

Cycle along the beautiful lakeside in Tahmela. We'll stop at Tahmela Beach to enjoy the views and take a short break.

After cycling through Pispala and Tahmela, it’s time to relax with a sauna and some great local food. Tahmelan Huvila is home to one of the best saunas in the region, along with delicious local cuisine. You’ll also have the chance to swim in a safe, shallow lake right next to the sauna.

One of the most beautiful sightseeing spots in Tampere. From the cliffs of Pyynikki, you’ll enjoy stunning lake views, an ideal place to capture the most memorable photos of your trip. We’ll also visit the famous Pyynikki Observation Tower.
